Full-size cabinet doors in painted and stained finishes, countertop samples you can lay flat, and flooring and tile you can put on the floor and stand over. Open the drawers while you are here: slides, hinges and box construction are easier to judge by hand than from a spec sheet.

Why it is worth the drive
Selections are where renovations go sideways
Jobs rarely go wrong at the framing stage. They go wrong when the cabinet finish arrives and it is not the white you had in your head, or the floor you picked under a showroom spotlight reads grey in a north-facing room in February. Each of those is a change order, a restock fee or a delay, and an hour with the real material before it is ordered avoids most of them.
Door styles and finishes, side by side
A cabinet finish on a two-inch chip tells you almost nothing. The same white paint reads cool next to grey quartz and warm next to white oak, and a full door shows the profile, the edge and the sheen at the size you will live with.
Stone, flat and at counter height
No two natural slabs match the sample, and even consistent engineered quartz changes character at scale. A vein that looks dramatic on a four-inch square can repeat awkwardly across a nine-foot island, so large pieces get judged flat, at counter height, under overhead light.
Flooring and tile, on the floor
Flooring gets chosen held up under a spotlight and then lives horizontally in a room that faces north. Put the board on the floor and look down at it, then pick the grout as deliberately as the tile, because grout color changes a tile job more than the tile does.

What to bring
None of this is required. Bring what you have and we will work with it, but the more of this you show up with, the further you get in one visit.
- Rough measurements of the room: wall lengths, ceiling height, window and door locations. A tape measure and a napkin sketch is plenty.
- Photos of the space on your phone, including the corners and the awkward parts you would rather not photograph. Those are the ones that drive the layout.
- A floor plan or an old set of drawings if you happen to have them. Not required, but it saves a step.
- Appliance model numbers if they are already picked, or already in the house and staying. Panel-ready and oversized units change cabinet sizes.
- A couple of images of kitchens or baths you like, and one you dislike. Knowing what to avoid narrows things faster than knowing what you want.

Tell us what the project is
Ten minutes on what you are doing, what the house is, and where you are in the process. A gut renovation and a cabinet swap need very different conversations.

Narrow the field
We work through door style, finish, counter material, flooring and tile, ruling things out as much as ruling them in. The goal is to arrive with twelve options and leave with two.

Take samples home
Look at them in your own light, in your own room, at seven in the morning and again at night. This is the step people skip and regret.

Get it in writing
Selections belong in a written scope that names the specific products, finishes and hardware, so what gets ordered is what you picked.
Nobody is going to lean on you
This is not a sales appointment: no deposit to sit down, no quote that expires at the end of the week. Come in, look at cabinets for twenty minutes, take a sample home and leave if that is all you need, including if you are still a year out from starting.
